"I
graduated from SDSU in 2004 with a degree in Education and a
minor in photography. I started my art/photography teaching
career by student teaching under a wonderful lady, Brenda Moerke,
at McCook Central in 2004. Afterwards, I was a shared K-12 art
teacher with some small schools around the Mitchell area for my
first 2 years of teaching. In 2007, my husband, Aaron, and I
moved to Pierre, SD. I have been teaching art and digital
photography at Riggs High School in Pierre ever since. In
December of 2008, my husband and I welcomed our daughter,
Alexis, into our lives! She is such a blessing as we can’t
imagine our lives without her!
It's
not hard to tell ... I love what I do! I am very blessed to be
able to share my passion of photography with my students during
the day and capture life’s special moments for people on
nights and weekends! I enjoy working with teenagers as they keep
me feeling young and on the modern trend! I also love
working with young children as I believe they are true gifts
from God! Their excitement and pure joy about life is very
refreshing!"
